Fried Asam Laksa

Something new that i learn and know everyday. Asam Laksa is a traditional nyonya food. Which it would be a tangy, sour yet salty and superbly fishy. Yesterday, 18/10, i stayed over night at YY place in subang. In the afternoon, i am very hungry. But i hate to think what to eat and i hated the question, "where to eat? what to eat?" the most.

Basically, I asked her what is best around in this area. Then she thought for awhile before she asked me, "have you tried fried asam laksa?". Curiousity was burning in me. Fried asam laksa? what is that? S o off we go to this restaurant, well cook gourmet.

The service there was fine and friendly. We ordered fried laksa and popiah. The popiah was delicious~ They really put all the ingredient in it and good wrapping. The fried laksa tasted a little bit of fried tom yam. Instead of the usual silver fish, they put chicken meat in it. Not bad~! YY told me that this is the only place that sells Fried laksa. Thought i find it a little too pricey for that size of portion. Changes once in a while is alright.

Fried laksa - something different (RM5.50)

Popiah - delicious too (Rm4.50)

Dry Bak Kut Teh

Bak Kut Teh, is a type of famous Chinese soup. The name literally translated to "meat bone tea". It was basically consists of meaty pork ribs in a complex broth of herbs and spices (including star anise, cinnamon, cloves, dang gui, and garlic), boiled together with pork bones for hours. It was one of my favorite dish of all time. I can't have it with "you tiu". A stripped fried dough.

Today i tried something different than usual. I never knew there is dry Bak Kut Teh until my friend, YY, took me to this restaurant, CHUAN CHIEW, in SS14. It has pork meat, of course, cinnamon, mushrooms, lots of dry chilies, strip od lady fingers, dried stirp of sotong and lots of other spices. It tasted hot, salty and it's kind of like eating friend tom yam rice.

Dry Bak Kut Teh

It's taste alright for me, i still prefer the old traditional bak kut teh soup that will make me sweat and add more rice. But if you want to tried something different, you should go a head and try dry bak kut teh. You may like it~
