Dry Bak Kut Teh

Bak Kut Teh, is a type of famous Chinese soup. The name literally translated to "meat bone tea". It was basically consists of meaty pork ribs in a complex broth of herbs and spices (including star anise, cinnamon, cloves, dang gui, and garlic), boiled together with pork bones for hours. It was one of my favorite dish of all time. I can't have it with "you tiu". A stripped fried dough.

Today i tried something different than usual. I never knew there is dry Bak Kut Teh until my friend, YY, took me to this restaurant, CHUAN CHIEW, in SS14. It has pork meat, of course, cinnamon, mushrooms, lots of dry chilies, strip od lady fingers, dried stirp of sotong and lots of other spices. It tasted hot, salty and it's kind of like eating friend tom yam rice.

Dry Bak Kut Teh

It's taste alright for me, i still prefer the old traditional bak kut teh soup that will make me sweat and add more rice. But if you want to tried something different, you should go a head and try dry bak kut teh. You may like it~
